Our conceptual view of the CD VISIONS The band’s first record was called VISIONS, and each music represents a musical vision of an image, a moment or a situation, those are:
* Violin by Glauco Fernandes (Brazilian Symphonyc Orchestra) All
the tittles of this first work are instrumental pieces, except for A New
Bright Day. Millennium
represents Earth as seen from the Cosmos and the planet’s awakening. Autumn,
as the name says, is a vision of that season as a whole. Whales
has been written a few years back when the worldwide campaign to protect the
whales was at its peak due to Greenpeace’s intense activity. The piece is an
hommage to whales and their sheer splendour. A
New Bright Day, the only song, speaks for itself. Trindade
Island is a musical vision of the island and all its submerged wonders. The
Kings & Knights track is a musical expression of a medieval fairy
tale, with its knights, kings, princes and fairies… November
represents the arrival of winter. The
Altenburg Suite is a symphonic vision of one Germany’s old castles, the
castle of Altenburg, done in a variety of movements (6 parts), which counts with
a special participation by Glauco Fernandes on a violin solo in the fifth
movement, called The Lake. Another special participation is made by
Eduardo Campos on a piano solo on the last movement, Essence of
Freedom. The
suite runs along like the passing of a day at the castle. It begins with the
arrival on a rainy afternoon (The Arrival at the Castle). Night evokes
the presence of all those who in the past have been between the castle’s walls
(Voices from the Past) and is effaced with the arrival of the morning
lights (The Birth of a Morning). The day is simbolized by the
movement The Sun at the Tower. The bucolic afternoon is represent by the
vision described in The Lake – a lake, woods, gardens… The
closing of the suite is made through the movement Essence of Freedom,
that runs through time, from the past to the present, beginning in a
baroque/renaissance like format, on to a progressive band and being ended in a
jazz-rock mood. The
Woods, closes a trilogy formed also by Autumn and November.
The woods, with theis misteries and gobblins, the nostalgic and envolving mood,
subtle yet palpable, represented by a duet of acoustic guitar and violin,
another participation of Glauco Fernandes. The last track, The Ocean, closes the trilogy formed with Whales – using its melodical theme – and Trindade Island. Lyrics A New Bright Day
